First, let's make it easy to find some of PSTCC's Biology Pages.
American Association for the Advancement of science (AAAS).This is the world's largest scientific organization containing some 10 million members.
The National Academies were founded in 1863 to serve the nation. Our best scientists are elected to the National Academy of Science.
The National Research Council is the arm of the National Academy whose mission is to "improve government decision making and public policy". In other words, it produces policy reports. There are thousands of books and reports produced by the academy that can be read online (and some downloaded as PDFs) for free.
The Royal Society is Britain's national academy (There are 24 countries with national academy of sciences). This is the oldest national academy (Think Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Francis Crick, Stephen Hawking) and since it's also in English (kind of), I've included it here.
Here's a couple of other nice sites. This is Scientific American magazine. Here's Nature. They have great sitea and produce excellent weekly podcasts. Nature publishes a number of journals including Nature, which, along with Science (published by the AAAS), are the two preeminent scientific journals.
